In his new $2 trillion climate plan, Joe Biden looks to effectively ban gas-powered vehicles from being produced in the United States.
An Effective Ban On Gas-Powered Vehicles
Biden and his team announced on Tuesday a plan for a “clean energy revolution” in order to combat climate change. In step 1 of this plan, which will go into force on day 1 of a potential new Biden administration, he will:
Take actions including requiring aggressive methane pollution limits for new and existing oil and gas operations; developing rigorous new fuel economy standards aimed at ensuring 100% of new sales for light- and medium-duty vehicles will be zero emissions and annual improvements for heavy duty vehicles; protecting America’s natural treasures by permanently protecting the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and other areas impacted by President Trump’s attack on federal lands and waters; and banning new oil and gas leasing on public lands and waters.
These fuel standards to be set by Biden will effectively ban the production of all new gas-powered vehicles in the United States, and force a switch to electric cars. Of course, this is not explicit for a reason – if Biden announced this was his plan, the thin veil of being the candidate of the coal-communities and the rust belt would be totally ripped away in one go.
Electric Vehicles Aren’t Greener Anyway!
Biden, just like the rest of the Democrats, is not a moderate. He may not be an avowed radical socialist like Bernie on economics, but boy, he is just as radical as the next man when it comes to social issues, including the environment. He totally subscribes to the insane greenie agenda that will kill the economy, regardless of his other actions on that front.
Ironically, it’s not like electric-powered vehicles are any good for the environment either! Their huge batteries require vast amounts of rare earth minerals, of which their mining destroys the landscape. And where does their electricity come from anyway? Regular coal-fired power plants, so the difference in pollution is overall neglible, albeit more hidden.
