Biden Says Capitol Riot Was ‘About White Supremacy’

President Biden, speaking at an event celebrating the Martin Luther King Jr. memorial in Washington on Thursday, claimed that ‘white supremacy’ was the driving factor behind Trump supporters objecting to the 2020 election.

“The violent, deadly insurrection on the Capitol nine months ago, it was about white supremacy, in my opinion,” he said.

President Biden went on to reference a right-wing rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2017, where a young left-wing protester named Heather Heyer was killed.

“The through-line is that hate never goes away,” he added.

Biden: Capitol Riot About White Supremacy

President Biden’s comments suggesting the events of January 6th were motivated by ‘white supremacy’ are not new.

Keep in mind – whether you agree with them or not, the protest was marketed as “Stop the Steal” – protesters believing sincerely – whether mistakenly or not – that the election was stolen by underhanded means. The media and the government assure us everything was above board. Fine – but that’s what the event was about.

Mainstream media fact-checkers have already knocked Tucker Carlson for saying, “There’s no evidence that white supremacists were responsible for what happened on Jan. 6. That’s a lie.”

Their reason? Because some of the people arrested had ties to white supremacist groups, and some people in the massive crowd had “symbols of white supremacy.” They source the government and left-wing groups. 

But does that mean the entire event was “about white supremacy?” Are the organizers white supremacists? Or did white supremacists show up at someone else’s event? The fact-check reads like an association fallacy.

Jonathan Haber at the Huffington Post describes the association fallacy as “the fallacious notion that any relationship between two people implies agreement of those people on all things.”

So – there were some white supremacists at the event, therefore they were the driving factor behind what happened.

Biden linking Charlottesville to the Capitol riot makes sense for him. You may recall that Biden, in announcing his candidacy for the White House, spread a lie that former President Trump defended neo-Nazis in Charlottesville.

“And they asked the president what he thought, and he said, ‘There were very fine people on both sides,'” Biden claimed.

In reality, within seconds of making the ‘fine people’ comment referring to the peaceful protestors in Charlottesville at that press conference, the President specifically called out the bigots at the rally.

“I’m not talking about the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists,” Trump said, “because they should be condemned totally.”

Biden’s Own Track Record

President Biden’s comments echo the sentiments of Army General Mark Milley, the super-woke Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman, who said he was studying the events of the Capitol riot so he could better understand “white rage.”

“I want to understand white rage, and I’m white,” Milley laughably said during a House Armed Service Committee hearing in June.

Biden’s habit of labeling things ‘white supremacy’ is also not new.

Biden has suggested that former military and former police officers are helping to fuel the growth of white supremacy and white supremacist groups in America.

Bloomberg News reported in April that the Justice Department is pursuing new laws to address domestic terrorism.

“The Justice Department is ‘actively considering’ whether to seek a new law that would let prosecutors bring specific charges for plotting and carrying out acts of domestic terrorism,” they wrote.

Bloomberg breathlessly reported on the riot at the Capitol being “carried out by extremist supporters of then-President Donald Trump” and immediately equated it to white supremacy.

“The FBI has warned that domestic violent extremists pose a heightened threat for carrying out attacks in the U.S. in the near future, with white supremacists being the most lethal threat,” they wrote.

This past May, The Political Insider reported that the Biden administration was considering a partnership with private firms to surveil Americans online for alleged “extremist chatter.”

Biden’s focus on white supremacy is odd considering his own history of racially-motivated comments including:

  • Warning of a future where one’s children would be forced into a “racial jungle.”
  • Saying the African-American community lacks a diversity of thought.
  • Assuming being a poor kid equates to being black.
  • Claiming anyone who doesn’t vote for a particular candidate is not ‘really’ black.
  • Lamenting that one can’t go to a Dunkin Donuts or 7-Eleven without having to hear an Indian accent.

Biden meanwhile, at the MLK memorial, told a tale of how George Floyd is on the cusp of changing history in America.

“I remember many times meeting his little daughter,” Biden said of Floyd. “She’d say to me, my daddy’s changing history.”

“We haven’t fulfilled that yet. I understand, you got to keep fighting,” he added. “Let me be clear though, we’re going to continue to fight for real police reform legislation.”
