BETO: Migrants Had ‘No Choice’ But to Come to U.S. Due to Climate Change

2020 Democratic candidate and Congressman Beto O’Rourke told demonstrators outside the Homestead Temporary Shelter for Unaccompanied Children that the children from Central America “had no choice but to come here” because climate change had damaged their home countries.

He blamed rising temperatures for causing droughts, which made food supply scarce. O’Rourke claimed these circumstance forced the people to come to the U.S. border and cross illegally.

O’Rourke was the fourth 2020 Democrat candidate to visit the protesters at the facility, where thousands of young people, mostly teens, most of whom arrived unaccompanied, are being held temporarily until they can be placed with U.S. sponsors.

2020 Dems Rep. Eric Swalwell, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, and Sen. Bernie Sanders have all also visited the facility.

O’Rourke, who was greeted and briefed by local activists, turned his visit into a rally, spending roughly half an hour atop a ladder overlooking the fence around the facility.

“He who denies the stranger or the outcast, he also denies America,” O’Rourke said, citing Robert Kennedy.

“Instead of reuniting them with their families, we are incarcerating them in tents in a for-profit facility with no oversight,” he added. He went on to demand that the Homestead facility, and every other like it, be shut down.

Then, in Spanish, O’Rourke said, “We must reunite every boy and girl here with their family.”

Beto Blames Trump

Then, of course, Beto pointed his finger at President Donald Trump.

“Donald Trump has done this; its up to change who is in the White House going forward,” O’Rourke said.

He forgot to mention the facility was first opened under Barack Obama administration.

Whoops!

Expect more of the 2020 Democratic field to show up for photo-ops and tell every lie they can about the president and the entire situation.

But don’t expect any of them to tell their audience that Obama did it first.
