Ben Rhodes: If Anyone Gets Hurt Over Election Fraud Claims, Blood Is On Trump’s Hands

Former deputy national security adviser for President Barack Obama, Ben Rhodes, said Wednesday that blood would be on the hands of President Donald Trump if anyone is physically harmed because of his election fraud claims.

Rhodes made his comments on MSNBC’s “Deadline.”

Ben Rhodes: Trump’s Claims Are Insane

“We have to take seriously the power Donald Trump has on an enormous share of the American population,” Rhodes said.

“I remember when Birtherism happened, and the Republican Party didn’t really condemn that or distance themselves from that,” Rhodes continued. “People thought, well, this is so ridiculous people are not going to believe that.”

“Then poll after poll showed healthy majorities of Republicans thought Barack Obama wasn’t born in America,” Rhodes added. “And that informed the degree of opposition and the degree of hostility that he faced in government.”

The former Obama official then said the election fraud claims were far worse than “Birtherism.”

“This, in many ways, is far worse,” Rhodes said. “He’s seeking to convince a significant part of the American public that this election was illegitimate and that it was stolen.”

Rhodes then accused President Trump of being insane.

“Let’s be very clear; what he’s saying is insane and absurd,” Rhodes declared. “It’s akin to pointing to the sky and saying it’s not blue. It’s green.”

Rhodes Says Trump’s ‘Conspiracy Theories’ Could Inspire Violence

Rhodes then accused trump of spreading conspiracy theories.

“Yet we’ve seen because of the spread conspiracy theory because of the size of the megaphone Donald Trump has and nature of social media, people are more than willing to live inside that reality, and the Republicans are going along with it,” he added.

“From a national security perspective, how many warning signs do you need?” Rhodes asked. “We had a plot to kidnap and potentially kill the Governor of Michigan. We’ve had people showing up armed in front of places.”

Don’t forget – the alleged Michigan plotters, of course, hate President Trump and also wanted to hang him – but that doesn’t fit Rhodes’ false narrative.

“We’ve had Republican officials sounding alarm, as you said,” Rhodes continued. “The warning signs are there.”

Then Rhodes said the President will be responsible if physical harm comes of his rhetoric.

“If someone gets hurt, if someone gets killed, the blood is on all of their hands, the people who are saying nothing, the people who are going along with this,” Rhodes insisted.

Blood on their hands?

How about the instability in the Middle East – including opening up a larger foothold for ISIS – the Obama administration created by helping to overthrow the government in Libya?

Or even U.S. action or lack thereof in Syria under Obama, with Rhodes in tow?

The former Obama advisor is merely playing politics here.

Rhodes: ‘This isn’t a game’

“This isn’t a game,” Rhodes emphasized on Wednesday. “This isn’t a charade.”

“This is a deliberate effort to make a big chunk of this country live inside of a conspiracy theory that could radicalize them to commit acts of violence,” Rhodes said.

The Obama administration alumni finished, “And this needs to be taken seriously and shut down by responsible adults before this becomes just a part of the political backdrop of this country for the next several years.”

Thankfully, President Trump took his job seriously, and responsible adults shut down the disastrous Obama foreign policy, quarterbacked by Ben Rhodes, during the last four years.
