World famous actor and director Rob Reiner is apparently trying to reprise his role in All in the Family as the man Archie Bunker referred to as ‘Meathead.’
Here’s a short list of Meat-headed comments Reiner managed to drop during a segment with MSNBC’s Morning Joe:
- In describing Donald Trump, Reiner said “The guy is a lunatic,” comparing him to the “lunatic in a park on a soapbox” you occasionally walk by.
- In describing Hillary Clinton, Reiner said she “is the most qualified person to be president in my lifetime.”
- Last, and very much worst, Reiner said every one of you out there who supports Trump for President, is a “racist.”

Reiner accused the media of taking it to too easy on Trump, saying that the billionaire businessman is only taken seriously as a political candidate because he is a celebrity.
“The words that have been flung out from his mouth are insane!” Reiner said. “If he was not a celebrity – if Donald Trump was not a celebrity … you’d see a guy in a park, a lunatic in a park on a soapbox, and you’d walk right by him.”
Reiner said that Trump needs to be pinned down and asked to answer specifics on his policies, such as the deportation of millions of illegal immigrants, which would all but ensure he loses the 2016 election.
Reiner was asked how he explains the incredible success of the Trump campaign and the millions of people who support him.
“There are a lot of people who are racist,” Reiner said. “There’s racism in this country that has been submerged for a long, long time … He’s unearthed a lot of it.”
Even MSNBC’s token Republican, Joe Scarborough, seemed taken aback by the accusation that millions of Trump supporters were lumped together as a group of racists.
“Oh my God, did you just say that?” an exasperated Scarborough said.
He did, and it wasn’t a Freudian slip either. It’s what many on the Hollywood left believe.
Well, maybe not Norman Lear, Reiner’s producer on All in the Family, who said Trump’s massive support isn’t due to racism, but rather is a big “middle finger” from a poorly-served American people to establishment politicians on both the left and right side of the aisle. Seems a slightly more reasonable assessment.
