There is no question that President Barack Obama doesn’t support Fox News. After all, they are the only major network which actually does their job: to be skeptical of those in power. He a a life-long community organizer and knows how to push ideological buttons, which is why he ripped the entire network as anti-poor bigots during a recent poverty summit.
And while there are secret efforts to control Fox News through the FCC, now Obama is being completely open about his censorship agenda. Obama announced to the world he wants to “change how the media reports.”
I think that the effort to suggest that the poor are sponges, leeches, don’t want to work, are lazy, are undeserving, got traction. And look, it’s still being propagated. I have to say that if you watch Fox News on a regular basis, it is a constant venue. They will find folks who make me mad. I don’t know where they find them. They’re all like, “I don’t want to work. I just want a free Obama Phone, or whatever.” And that becomes an entire narrative that gets worked up. And very rarely do you hear an interview of a waitress, which is much more typical — who is raising a couple of kids and doing everything right but still can’t pay the bills.
And so, if we’re going to change how Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) and Sen. Mitch McConnell think, we’re going to have to change how our body politic thinks, which means we’re going to have to change how the media reports on these issues, and how people’s impressions of what it’s like to struggle in this economy looks like. And how budgets connect to that. And that’s a hard process because that requires a much broader conversation than typically we have on the nightly news.

This is un-American and un-constitutional. America deserves a free press, and there is no reason to shut down a network simply because it supports traditional American views. The left can’t win debates so they often try to silence their opposition. And Obama is using his apparently endless power to silence Fox. And he’s announcing it, in hopes of scaring the network into being softer in their White House coverage.

Daniel is SO typical of a uber liberal, condescending to the max - conservatives are so STUPID that they can't even tie their shoes! But, wait, he doesn't stop there, he calls Fox CRIMINAL! What you have witnessed is an uber liberal just taking the 1st Amendment of the Constitution and BLOWING IT AWAY. And he is PLEASED with himself.
As you see, liberals really don't care at all about the Constitution; they will decide what rights you are entitled to because they KNOW BEST! And you thought that Animal Farm was just a KID'S BOOK.
If Obama had a plan to censor the news, of course, I would oppose. Who can call themselves a true American and not oppose the restriction of free speech? If you think Fox is "lying" then don't tune in and watch MSNBC instead. Many people have given their lives so that we can have that option. I can understand tensions building over differing opinions of fundamental ideologies in politics, but it truly astonishes me that anyone could actually believe that the answer is to silence all opposition to their point of view. My suggestion, and what I do personally, is watch the three major national news networks and learn to read between the lines.
So, I just have a couple of comments. He made the comment that they will find folks that make me mad. You know many people in the world may share a differing opinion than yours. Not speaking specifically in this case of the president but just generally speaking. This is truly a spice of life to understand someone elses perspective and be privy to it. Now, I would ask the question: should all programming should be tailored to his liking. Imagine the information he would not receive from his staff and in his briefings if it all had to be tailored to make him happy and not mad. The reality is he needs this balance even if he does not recognize it. He also made the comment I don't know where they find them and they're all like I don't want to work. Well, I would suggest that he finds out where they find them, loosely without encroaching on their right to privacy. BUT without looking I can tell you that he can find them in his country, in every state, in every city, on every block and in their houses and they have a view point and a reason they share it. He should be focusing on why they don't want to work for example rather then the fact that Fox is sharing that information with him. He also mentioned very rarely do you hear an interview of a waitress which is much more typical — who is raising a couple of kids and doing everything right but still can’t pay the bills. Now I'm not sure I understand the relevance of this comment however I would suggest Fox dedicates a show interviewing waitresses who have a differing opinion than his and see if he can handle that bit of feedback. Finally, he mentioned change how our body politic thinks, which means were going to change how the media reports on these issues and how people's impression of what it's like to struggle in the economy looks like. I found this most interesting because I believe the goverment already has three channels that no one watches. Based on their ratings, I would suggest instead of criticizing a station's news programming he may want to take notes. I've watched enough senate and congress in session bore-amentaries to know that he is approaching dangerous territories for should Fox's ratings dive as a result of his actions then who would be liable is the question. I know he's a millionaire. Maybe he's preparing to give Fox an infusion of cash through litigation. Who knows but I'm playing close attention and looking forward to a chance to say "Freedom of Speech."
