Report: Barack Obama Proposed to Another Woman Before Michelle Obama

It’s no secret that the liberal media is enamored with Barack and Michelle Obama’s marriage, fawning over the former first couple at every chance they have.

But what if we told you Michelle Obama was not Barack’s first choice, and that there was another woman who had his heart? Would the liberal media ever report this? No, as it would destroy their belief that the Obamas have the perfect love story, meeting in Chicago and starting their liberal lives together.

In a new biography, author David J. Garrow describes how the former president proposed to a woman named Sheila Miyoshi when he was in his early 20’s but felt “trapped between the woman he loved and the destiny he knew was his.”

From The Independent:

She was of Dutch and Japanese ancestry and, like Obama’s distant mother, also studied anthropology.  Although the couple were a natural fit, Jager told Garrow that their life together felt isolating – “an island unto ourselves” in which Obama would “compartmentalise his work and home life.”

At the time, Obama was a community organiser who tried to write fiction in his free time, but he already believed he would one day become president of the United States, and Jager was one the few people he told of his ambitions.

She quickly realised he had “a deep-seated need to be loved and admired.” As the relationship progressed, they started discussing marriage. “In the winter of ‘86, when we visited my parents, he asked me to marry him,” she told Garrow.

Ironically, Jager’s parents were opposed to the union due to concerns over Obama’s professional prospects and because they thought she was too young. She told Barack “not yet,” but they didn’t split up.But Jager believes Obama changed around the age of 25 in 1987: “He became… so very ambitious very suddenly,” she told Garrow.

“I remember very clearly when this transformation happened, and I remember very specifically that by 1987, about a year into our relationship, he already had his sights on becoming president.”

According to Garrow, Obama believed that he could not be successful as a politician in Chicago if he had a non-African American wife, and this directly contributed to the downfall of their relationship.

When Obama did propose to Jager, she believed it was “out of a sense of desperation over our eventual parting and not in any real faith in our future.” Had Obama never broken things off with Jager, then America could have potentially been spared 8 years of his disastrous presidency.

Clearly though, Obama put politics ahead of love and ditched Jager, before eventually meeting Michelle. This story is certainly not as romantic as the love story the liberal media would want you to believe brought Barack and Michelle together, and thus few people will ever know of its existence.
