Democratic Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms told CNN Wednesday that President Donald Trump would “eat his own children” if it advanced his interests.
The mayor was discussing two upcoming Georgia runoff elections in January that will determine if Republicans will maintain control of the U.S. Senate.
"He will eat his own children, I'm sure, if he found it prudent," says Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms of President Trump turning on members of the GOP that don't support his agenda.

Mayor Bottoms: ‘He Will Eat His Own Children’
CNN’s Anderson Cooper asked Bottoms if Trump’s voter fraud claims were just to “rile up his base” so that Republican voters would have a strong showing in the runoff elections.
Bottoms replied, “This has been a fascinating year, especially if you watch politics.”
“To even see the Republican president turn on the Republican secretary of state [of Georgia], whom he endorsed, and if you watch his Twitter feed,” Bottoms added.

Cooper jumped in to say of the President, “He’ll turn on anybody if the situation warrants it, it seems.”
Bottoms responded, “He will eat his own children, I’m sure, if he found it prudent.”
The Atlanta mayor noted how Trump was fighting with other Republicans.
“But he’s now picking a fight with Brian Kemp, also the governor who he was closely allied with,” Bottoms said.
Georgia Secretary of State, a so-called Republican (RINO), won’t let the people checking the ballots see the signatures for fraud. Why? Without this the whole process is very unfair and close to meaningless. Everyone knows that we won the state. Where is @BrianKempGA?

She continued, “And so it’s my hope that even if people did not vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris that they will be so disappointed and disgusted by this behavior.”
She said there are multiple reasons that people should no longer support Donald Trump.
“As you look at the transition, the lack of transition that’s happening, you look at our COVID numbers that are rising in the state and across the country, there’s so many reasons not to be supportive of Donald Trump at this point, and any candidates who are aligned with him,” she insisted.
“So it’s my hope that when people go back to the polls on Jan. 5 they will remember that because in Georgia, Joe Biden got a nice portion of Republican-leaning votes in this state and also many independent swing voters in this state went for Joe Biden, and it’s our hope that will happen Jan. 5,” the mayor summarized.
Trump Speaks Out On Georgia Election
Trump has not been shy in speaking out about the presidential election in Georgia.
The President tweeted on Wednesday, “The Georgia recount is a joke and is being done UNDER PROTEST.”
“Even though thousands of fraudulent votes have been found, the real number is in matching signatures,” he added.
“Governor must open up the unconstitutional Consent Decree and call in the Legislature!”

Will Trump’s Election Challenge Affect Voter Turnout?
Will President Trump’s actions get more Republicans to the runoff election in Georgia in January or is Mayor Bottom right – some who might have been inclined to vote Republican will now switch and vote Democrat?
The fate of the Senate hangs in that balance.
And no matter what, don’t expect President Trump to be quiet about it between now and the runoff elections.
