Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez had a veritable temper tantrum on the House floor Friday as she argued that the $2.2 trillion coronavirus stimulus only provided “crumbs” to the people.
Voicing her dismay in the debate leading up to a vote in which the House is expected to pass the measure, the New York Democrat took issue with the $500 billion in relief to businesses.
You know, those things that employ people.
Things Got Wild
“What did the Senate majority fight for?” AOC said, gesticulating wildly and even slamming her hands down on the podium from which she spoke. “One of the largest corporate bailouts with as few strings as possible in American history.”
“Shameful. The greed of that fight is wrong for crumbs for our families,” she concluded.
The display was reminiscent of one of those inflatable air dancers placed outside car dealerships to entice customers.

AOC railing against the ‘Senate majority’ is a bit awkward since the ‘Senate minority‘ joined them to pass the stimulus bill by a vote of 96-0.
In fact, Democrats were even more in line voting FOR this bill than they were when they voted AGAINST the Green New Deal. And they were pretty unanimous in defeating that.

Crumbs
The ‘crumbs’ AOC is complaining about are $1,200 checks made out to most individuals in America, and $2,400 checks for couples. Not to mention the additional $500 for most children.
But make no mistake, her anger isn’t focused on the everyday average American family, it is the illegals she was complaining about just hours earlier.
As she notes, those checks will only apply to taxpayers with a Social Security number. Not illegal aliens with tax IDs (ITINs).
To clarify, $1200 checks are ONLY going to some w/social sec numbers, NOT immigrants w/ tax IDs (ITINs).
Thanks to GOP, these checks will be cut off the backs of *taxpaying immigrants,* who get nothing. Many are essential workers who pay more taxes than Amazon.

Note the contents of that tweet. They are the same arguments she is making in her wild rant above.
“The option that we have is to either let them suffer with nothing or to allow this greed and billions of dollars, which will be leveraged into trillions of dollars to contribute to the largest income inequality gap in our future,” she argued.
“There should be shame about what was fought for in this bill and the choices that we have to make.”
Who is ‘suffering with nothing’ as AOC states? The illegals she mentioned in her tweet.

Not The Only Lunatic
Ocasio-Cortez wasn’t the only out-of-control Democrat on the House floor Friday morning.
Rep. Haley Stevens (D-MI) had her own meltdown as she ran out of time making an emotional speech about how medical professionals will “see darkness,” complete with her own fist-pounding, screeching, and accompanying pink latex gloves.
“I rise before you adorning these latex gloves not for personal attention, not for personal attention, but to encourage you to take this disease seriously,” she announced. “I rise for every American who is scared right now.”
Noble, sure, but what does that have to do with debating a relief package for the American economy?
When Stevens ran out of time, things really got crazy …

Kind of kills that whole ‘I didn’t do this for personal attention’ argument, doesn’t it?
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi must have been pleased with the display, having conducted her own premeditated protest at the State of the Union earlier this year.
And lo’ and behold …

Oddly enough, CNN congressional correspondent Manu Raju described Stevens outburst as notable because she is usually “mild-mannered.”
Tell that to this Second Amendment supporter:
Last year, Rep. Stevens became unglued about the @NRA.

Stevens also posted a doctored image of President Trump dressed as the Grim Reaper, along with the caption “Happy Easter, Grandma.”
Yea, definitely mild-mannered.
