AOC Loses it During House Oversight Hearing, Calls Hunter Biden’s Laptop ‘Half-Fake’

During a hearing for the Congressional Oversight Committee regarding censorship by Twitter during the 2020 election, “Squad” member Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (aka AOC) went on a wild tangent where she called the events surrounding Hunter Biden’s infamous laptop “half-fake.”

“When New York Post first reported in October 2020 that it had obtained contents of a laptop computer, allegedly owned by Joe Biden’s son Hunter,” the Congresswoman said, “The Newspaper wasn’t sharing what it obtained.”

“New York Post had this alleged information and was trying to publish it without corroboration, without any backup information. They were trying to publish it to Twitter, Twitter did not let them, and now they’re upset.”

What AOC was referring too was the censorship of all stories and content on Twitter regarding Hunter’s laptop, which Joe Biden and other Democrats, as well as media outlets jumped to call “Russian disinformation.” Evidence has since confirmed that the laptop did belong to Joe Biden’s son and the materials on it, including sexually explicit photos and other messages regarding the Biden family’s business dealings, are authentic.

Anything but the Truth

During AOC’s rant, she stated that she believes that “political operatives who sought to inject explosive disinformation” were behind the initial New York Post story, and that because the story was censored online, they became “livid” as a result.

“And they want the ability to do it again,” she continued. “They want the ability to inject this again. So they’ve dragged a social media platform here to Congress. They’re weaponizing the use of this committee, so that they can do it again. A whole hearing about a 24-hour hiccup in a right-wing political operation. That is why we are here right now.”

From there, she began to say that the hearing was an “abuse” of taxpayer resources and that the accusations of Hunter Biden’s controversial business dealings with a Ukrainian gas exporter and the Chinese government were “half-fake.”

“We can be talking about health care, we can be talking about bringing down the cost of prescription drugs, we can be talking about abortion rights, civil rights, voting rights, but instead, we’re talking about Hunter Biden’s half-fake laptop story. I mean, this is an embarrassment. But I’ll go into it… Let’s talk about something real.”

It’s going to be hard for AOC to clarify which part of the events surrounding the laptop are fake, since even the liberal New York Times even had to admit to the authenticity of the laptop and its contents, putting an end to the left wing theory that the laptop fiasco was a Russian disinformation campaign.

What We Already Know From the Laptop

The contents of the laptop which have been the primary focus of the hearing are emails which show Hunter Biden promising to organize a meeting between Ukrainian oil executives and his father while his father was serving as Vice President.

According to the New York Post piece which was published right around the 2020 election, the “never-before-revealed meeting is mentioned in a message of appreciation that Vadym Pozharskyi, an adviser to the board of Burma, allegedly sent Hunter Biden” in 2015. During Hunter’s time on the board of Burisma, he was making $50,000 per month despite not having any experience in business, engineering, or fossil fuels.

“Dear Hunter,” one correspondence started, “thank you for inviting me to DC and giving an opportunity to meet your father and spent some time together.”

An even older email going back to 2014 show’s the same adviser asking Hunter Biden to give him “advice on how you could use your influence” on behalf of Burisma.

It’s this revelation which contradicts President Biden’s claim that he had “never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings.”
