Andrew Cuomo Tries to Blame President Donald Trump for Anti-Semitic Attack in New York

Democrat governor of Empire State lashes out after weekend violence in Monsey

By David Kamioner | December 29, 2019

He is governor of a state that has experienced several anti-Semitic incidents in only the past week or so.

And his own party harbors and applauds such anti-Israel bigots as Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.).

So you’d think Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) of New York would take some political responsibility for the latest incident against New York Jews — a Saturday attack by machete at the home of a rabbi in the Rockland County hamlet of Monsey, New York, about 35 miles north of New York City.

But in a thinly veiled attempt to change the subject and try to blame President Donald Trump — a man who is lauded by Israelis and who is, by general agreement, the most pro-Israel U.S. president since Ronald Reagan (not to mention that Trump’s own daughter and son-in-law are Jewish) — Cuomo said on Sunday that the attack is “an American cancer in the body politic.”

Cuomo continued, “This is an intolerant time in our country. We see anger. We see hatred exploding.”

And what hatred would the governor be referring to, this analyst wonders?

Could it be his own party’s seeming hatred of Israel?

Could it be the way that some leading 2020 primary candidates, including Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), completely demonize those who are successful in life?

Or maybe it’s the governor himself — someone who has told pro-life voters they have no place in his state.

But — no.

The “time in our country” line Cuomo slickly tried to inject is the usual Democratic cry of racism and intolerance against anybody who does not conform to the political, social, and cultural views shared by those on the Left.

And, as any one who watches television or goes to a movie can see, the Left does not limit its hatred to President Trump.

Everyday Americans — hardworking, salt-of-the-earth Americans — are often portrayed as provincial buffoons waiting to be edified and civilized by bi-coastal pseudo-elites.

Fathers, husbands, and men in general are cast as bumbling misogynist Neanderthals who long to be set straight by multi-gendered pansexual sages of wisdom.

The U.S. Armed Forces and even law enforcement in general are supposedly all racists and bullies in uniform who serve the corporate white patriarchy.

Yet the Left lectures, or tries to lecture, the president on tolerance, anger, hatred and so much more.

This is terribly sad — and in the long run, so dangerous for our country.
