Epic Tribute to American War Films Goes Viral

A video paying tribute to American war films from 2015 has gone viral after being picked up by the Daily Caller over two years after the fact. The video, which features a compilation of notable American war films, lasts just over five minutes, and features scenes from American Sniper, Unbroken, Full Metal Jacket, Black Hawk Down, Band of Brothers (series), Apocalypse Now, The Longest Day, Lone Survivor, Thin Red Line, The Patriot, Fury, and Pearl Harbor, among others.

It’s an epic tribute that’s bound to send chills down your spine – and instill a sense of pride in your country.

And as a bonus, it includes a George Patton speech spliced through the clips. “I want you to remember that no bastard won one war by dying for his country. You won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country.”

Watch below:

War, as General Sherman said, is hell. But it sure is enlightening to watch war on the big screen.

Many Americans will never see the horrors of war up close and personal. And we should be thankful for that. As any combat veteran will tell you, war is not a game, nor is it flashy entertainment. It’s a struggle of the mind and the heart against an enemy who wants nothing more than to eradicate you fully.

That’s why our veterans are so deserving of the care and honor we afford them when they return home. President Trump made reform of Veterans Affairs a major plank in his campaign platform, and Trump, as president, he has shown unending devotion to the well-being of our troops.

The heroes in our armed forces have given their lives to ensure that we continue to live freely, under the protections provided by our Constitution.

The video above highlights in the most dramatic form that kind of sacrifice we benefit from today.

Share this moving tribute to our heroes now!
