Trump backed candidates had a spectacular showing last night, with the President tweeting out “5 for 5!” this morning to celebrate all five candidates he endorsed winning their races.
5 for 5!

In a follow-up tweet, he accused the media of downplaying the Republican Party’s repeated success in special elections.
The Republicans have now won 8 out of 9 House Seats, yet if you listen to the Fake News Media you would think we are being clobbered. Why can’t they play it straight, so unfair to the Republican Party and in particular, your favorite President!

Some liberals tried to pretend that they weren’t annihilated last night, which was quickly met with mockery. The publication VICE tweeted out that “Tuesday night was not all bad news for the progressive insurgency.” One conservative joked in response “sure the house burned down, but at least we saved the cat!”
A denial of defeat is perhaps the least desperate progressive response to last night’s special elections, however. Alyssa Milano, normally resided to making insane comments about firearms, has offered up her own theory for last night’s GOP victories. And of course, it involves the Russians. For some reason, she thinks the fact that the Green Party in Ohio received votes, this was evidence of Russian interference in the election. “You know what sucks?” she wrote. “Because of our unwillingness to pass policy that protects our election integrity, I immediately think the Green Party votes tonight are Russian meddling.”
She offers no explanation for why or how she came to this conclusion.
You know what sucks?
Because of our unwillingness to pass policy that protects our election integrity, I immediately think the Green Party votes tonight are Russian meddling.
Why else would anyone cast a protest vote in Ohio when there’s so much at stake?#OH12

As one user pointed out, however, even if 100% of the Green Party votes went to the Democratic Party, it still wouldn’t have been enough.
Balderson (R) – 101,574
O’Connor (D) – 99,820
Green Votes – 1,127O’Connor + Green Votes = 100,947
100,947 < 101,574
And that’s assuming 100% of the Green Party votes would go to the Democratic candidate, which isn’t true. But thanks for playing.

Amazingly Milano’s audience largely agreed with her “analysis,” though she did receive her fair share of mockery:
You know what sucks? When you let illegals vote because the majority of American’s are done with your party and can see right through it. That’s election meddling at its finest.

Here's what you sound like: "You didn't vote the way I liked so you must be Russian!"

So glad to see you finally understand the need for #VoterID in all American elections, both federal and state. https://t.co/l6i0yCwJCP

Do you see what you are doing?? You didn't want people to vote their choice. You wanted them to vote YOUR way. Because they didn't you jump to 'Russian meddling?' You can believe your way is the right way but don't bash others for not agreeing with you, or insinuate things.

And Milano isn’t even the only one! Transgender activist Charlotte Clymer speculated that the Green Party votes are actually evidence that Republicans are too embarrassed to vote for Trump…. so they’re voting for an extreme far-left Party instead. Such an insane statement would be like claiming it must be fed-up leftists who voted for Tea Party candidates back in 2010.

There’s no evidence that Russian interference changed a single vote in the 2016 election – but we’re to believe that they’re interfering with our primaries by supporting the far-Left Green Party? If that’s the case, these Russians are even more incompetent than Alyssa Milano!
Honestly though, at this rate, Milano will be complaining that the midterms are a Russian conspiracy too because Republicans are positioned to dominate. The Republican National Committee has out-fundraised the DNC by a ratio of over 2:1 this year, and has $51 million in cash to the DNC’s $9 million. If there’s liberal enthusiasm for the midterms, it isn’t leading them to put their money where their mouths are.
Furthermore, Trump’s approval rating is trending upward, and the approval rating of the President is always good for candidates that share their party. Now topping 50%, Trump’s approval rating is higher than Obama’s was at this stage of his presidency (and if it weren’t for the media, Trump’s approval would be drastically higher).
There is a silver lining in all this Russia hysteria, in that it’s become a scapegoat for Democrats. Rather than look inward to explain their losses, they’re blaming a foe that played no role. The more they continue to do that than seriously analyze why the American public keeps refusing to vote for them, the more they’ll continue to lose.
