Another Fox News host appears to be leaving the network or is at least in serious talks to depart.
Last week, we reported that long-time Fox host Kimberly Guilfoyle has left the network for reasons unknown, though it was rumored the choice wasn’t her own. (RELATED: Report: Kimberly Guilfoyle Is Leaving Fox News).
Now it looks like Abby Huntsman, daughter of the former presidential candidate and U.S. Ambassador to Russia John Huntsman, may be leaving her post at Fox’s popular morning show “Fox & Friends Weekend.”
The Huffington Post broke the story:
Abby Huntsman, a co-host of the popular Fox News program “Fox & Friends Weekend” and a former “HuffPost Live” host, is in talks with ABC to join their daytime show “The View,” four sources familiar with the negotiations tell HuffPost.
If a deal is agreed upon, Huntsman would replace Sara Haines, a former ABC News correspondent, who recently announced that she is joining “Good Morning America” host Michael Strahan in co-hosting a third hour of “GMA” starting in September.

This is quite a dramatic turn of events. And it raises a few questions. First, Huntsman has long been an anti-Trump Republican. She had to apologize last June for “accidentally” referring to Trump as a “dictator” on air. (RELATED: Fox News Host Abby Huntsman Apologizes for Calling Trump a ‘Dictator”.)
Now she wants to pick up and move from Fox, which, while home to a few voices critical of Trump, provides a lot of coverage in the President’s favor, to “The View,” which is home to a raving band of female anti-Trump hosts.
Now, ABC may want to claim they’re seeking more conservative views for their usual cast of creaking crones. But Meghan McCain is every conservative’s idea of a moderate leftist, and Huntsman is no Trump supporter. They are two milquetoast establishment Republicans who are more liable to side with liberals over the President than to fight for him, even when he’s right.
Huntsman being extra close to McCain makes this scenario all the more plausible:
