883 Pages To Help Americans Hurt By Coronavirus? Are They Kidding?

I just don’t get it. Why are these enormously sized bills allowed?

We’ve gotten to the point where everything this ridiculous government does, budget or otherwise, is some gargantuan piece of excrement.

CONGRESS DOES THIS ON PURPOSE

My son and I were discussing this, and he wondered, “why aren’t all of these proposals required to be considered and voted upon individually? Why aren’t the names of those who proposed them displayed with each proposal?

Wouldn’t this add accountability as well as the ability to discern who the ones are pulling strings behind them?) Who writes or crafts these bills as it certainly isn’t the congress members who don’t know anything until they read them if they do?

Who would write a draft proposal that unemployed people will receive more money than if they were working? Wouldn’t it be nice to see the names of the people who proposed idiocy such as this? Concurrently, who wrote that mid-sized businesses accepting government help would be forbidden from any attempts by their workforce to unionize?

HOW LONG CAN THIS CONTINUE?

I recognize that this game allows supposed compromise, where I hold my nose for what you want, and you hold your nose for what I want. But this is the terrible process that has continued to plunge us into ever more debt, year after year.

Itemize these proposals and let them stand on their respective merits. Hold the people proposing them accountable for what they ask for. For goodness sake, this proposal is 800+ pages long, which is less than Pelosi’s 1400 page monstrosity. How long can we let this charade continue?

People are wondering when they will get their next paycheck and our legislators instead of working on alleviating some of the sufferings. Why have they decided that working on their shopping wish list and looking at who to give money to– their favorite organizations and pet projects were or are more important.

GET RID OF THESE SHOPPING LISTS!

Instead of focusing on what is happening, it looks like they were busy making a shopping wish list and working on that to put in this spending bill! Disgusting.

Guess this shines a light on their ACTUAL priorities, …which isn’t the American people who are laid off right now or the businesses that will probably wind up the closing.

VETO THIS, PRESIDENT TRUMP!

I voted for you sir and damn proud of it, but for the love of God, please VETO this monstrosity of a bill (Cares Act) that the Senate has rushed through. Please read it to the American people and explain to them why you will veto this. We, the people, are tired of this constant rush always to favor the American people.

For many years now, politicians have always promised us the world and only delivered a tiny fraction of those promises, yet still always pretending to represent us. But you sir, you were different, and this is why the American people voted for you. You asked us to take a chance, and we did! So now I’m asking you to take a chance and trust the American people who put you in office the first time and know that we will be there the second time.

You’re a good man, sir; even I know you cannot morally sign this Act.

Mr. President, we have your back, I promise you!
