We all know the pain of Tax Day, the most dreaded day of the year.
According to the Tax Foundation, “Americans will pay $3.5 trillion in federal taxes and $1.6 trillion in state and local taxes, for a total bill of more than $5.1 trillion, or 31 percent of the nation’s income.” That’s more than Americans spend on food, clothing, and housing combined! It also takes Americans 46 days just to earn enough to cover their tax bill. And Democrats are always wanting more.
And then there’s the IRS, in charge of confiscating all that money. Some of the most hated people in the country are tax collectors, so it makes sense that there would be a lot of jokes made at their expense. It’s the least we can do to help us get through it.
