45 Republicans Have Signed On to Condemn Adam Schiff

The movement to condemn House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff for making up a phone conversation President Trump never had with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky just got stronger, as 45 Republicans have signed on.

‘Inexcusable’

Sponsored by House Freedom Caucus Chairman Andy Biggs, H. Res. 604 quickly gained support throughout the House Republican conference. Biggs said that it was “inexcusable” of Schiff to “mislead the American public with such a statement.”

Breitbart News reported that “Although a public list of cosponsors only shows 18 Republicans supporting the resolution, an internal GOP list obtained by Breitbart News shows that 45 Republicans have joined the list of GOP lawmakers to condemn Schiff.”

Breitbart went on to note that, “This represents a growing movement of Republicans to fight back against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) and Democrats’ move to impeach Trump.”

Schiff’s misrepresentation of the conversation between Trump and Zelensky sparked widespread backlash, and despite Democrats defenses of the congressman, the duplicity of his tactics were evident to many.

Republican Congressman Fred Keller announced Thursday that he will join this growing list of Republicans. Keller said that Schiff has led a “rigged political witch hunt” and that he must be held accountable.

“We now know what we’ve suspected all along: the ‘impeachment inquiry’ being undertaken by Speaker Pelosi, Chairman Schiff, and the socialist House Democrats is nothing short of a rigged political witch hunt that seeks to delegitimize our duly-elected President,” Keller said. “Chairman Schiff has made a mockery of this solemn process and the Democrats leading the impeachment charge have strayed far afield of the Constitutional impeachment parameters.”

“Their continued pursuit of impeachment is wrong, the nonsense must stop, and Chairman Schiff should be held accountable for his actions both prior to the committee’s hearing last week as well as during,” Keller added. “It’s time to stop with the litigating and investigating and return to legislating for the benefit of the American people.

‘He has no credibility to be a chairman’

House Republican Leader McCarthy called Schiff “desperate” in his efforts to harm the President.

“Chairman Adam Schiff has been lying to the American people for years. Now he is so desperate to damage the president that he literally made up a false version of a phone call,” McCarthy wrote on Twitter Wednesday. “Enough is enough.”

“He has no credibility to be a chairman,” McCarthy said on Fox News Thursday.

“He has no right to be the prosecutor in this case,” McCarthy added.

  • If you lie when testifying before congress, it's a felony! Now Shifty lies during a congressional inquiry and isn't charged with committing the same felony??? Again I ask the obvious, is this a double standard or what?

  • Definition of witch hunt? And it's relation to to what Trump has already publicly admitted already, his violating the law by using abuse of power to help benefit him and harm a political rival using a foreign power to help in this endeavour. That act and it's nature is a possible criminal act being committed.

  • Weinstein? or Epstein? I had never heard of Weinstein. if you are talking about Harvey Weinstein, the film maker (I just looked him up) I'm not sure why Romney would want to support him or be involved with him since he really bad mouthed Romney when Romney blew the 2012 election. At any rate the fact that Romney is holding a political office says nothing good about the voters in Utah or the party machine.

  • You got that right. Rommy and many other Republicans are in that same boat. Want to bet they were compromised by professionals... photos of them partaking ...aka Weinstein and the orgainization he worked for.

  • Yes, look behind the curtain before you support anyone. This site has not proven its self to be willing to stand against the liberal agenda. They will go so far, and then back down. As you seem to have discovered. They beg for support, but the conservatives I know will not support them, because of exactly what happened to you.

  • Doesn't matter how many GOP sign on, the Democrats control the House. Get another 174 members of the House to sign on and then you will have something.

  • Schiff has used every rumor, spread by the fake news and the Socialist members of Congress, to slander and undermine the President. He has no business being in Congress, let alone on the intelligence committee. That's an oxymoron in relation ship to Schiff.
