Fiery Interview: Tucker Carlson Eviscerates Reporter Over Trump Allegations

Tucker Carlson Newsweek

Tucker Carlson continued his personal war against dishonest leftists when he brought Newsweek senior writer Kurt Eichenwald on his show to discuss allegations the reporter has made against Donald Trump.

Eichenwald made wild accusations about Trump’s mental health, tweeting that he believes Trump won’t release medical records because he “was institutionalized in a mental hospital for a nervous breakdown.”

Carlson immediately began pressing for actual proof of the accusation, which Eichenwald, to nobody’s surprise, was unable to provide.

“I think that you’re humiliating yourself by your unwillingness to answer a simple question,” Carlson charged. “How can Newsweek employ you as a reporter, Kurt, when you’re throwing lines like this around that are untrue, that you can’t substantiate?”

“I looked up your bio and it describes you as a senior writer at Newsweek which suggests journalism,” he continued. “Do you believe that you are practicing journalism?”

Carlson pointed to one particular tweet in which Eichenwald wrote, “I believe Trump was institutionalized in a mental hospital for a nervous breakdown in 1990, which is why he won’t release medical records.”

He asked Eichenwald to reveal what proof he has for that allegation.

Eichenwald began retracing the journalistic process of how he came to the belief that Trump was institutionalized, but Carlson kept pressing him for a succinct explanation and a definitive answer.

“It’s a simple question: Was he in a mental hospital, as you claimed, or wasn’t he?” Carlson said.

Eichenwald insisted that he wasn’t being given the time to fully answer the question, but Carlson said he was just “filibustering.”

Carlson surmised that Eichenwald should cease referring to himself as a journalist.

“You ought to label yourself as what you are,” he blasted, “which is an advocate when you say things like this.”
