In the midst of a fiery exchange with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos, the President mocked his interviewer by calling him a “little wise guy.”
Stephanopoulos, the former White House Communications Director under Bill Clinton, was grilling Trump for not agreeing to an in-person interview with Special Counsel Robert Mueller during the Russia collusion investigation.
When the President noted that he answered questions in writing, the ABC reporter claimed he hadn’t addressed obstruction. You know, the crime Mueller couldn’t pursue and which the DOJ cleared him of?
Trump didn’t take too kindly to Stephanopoulos’ word games and essentially called him out for being a pipsqueak.
“Wait a minute. I did answer questions. I answered them in writing,” Trump explained.
“Not on obstruction,” replied Stephanopoulos.
Trump then unloaded …
“George, you’re being a little wise guy, OK, which is, you know, typical for you,” he said.

Good grief.
The President decided to break things down into simple terms that even Stephanopoulos could understand.
“Just so you understand. Very simple. It’s very simple. There was no crime. There was no collusion. The big thing’s collusion. Now, there’s no collusion. That means … it was a setup, in my opinion, and I think it’s going to come out,” he explained.

Could somebody please reach out to ABC News and explain to them that their credibility takes a serious hit when they put a Clinton lackey out there like this ‘little wise guy’ and pretend he’s an impartial journalist?
Or maybe not. The entertainment value alone against team Trump has been worth the price of admission.
At the height of the Brett Kavanaugh Supreme Court nomination hearings, Stephanopoulos tried to paint the President as a guy with a penchant for standing by men who have been accused of sexual misconduct. Ironic, again, because George worked for the biggest serial sexual abuser in the history of the White House.
As he spun his lie, White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders masterfully turned the question around to remind viewers that two prominent Democrats went unscathed despite their own allegations. It was an embarrassing defeat.
In another interview in 2015 with then-candidate Donald Trump, Stephanopoulos got called out for pretending to be a journalist.
When the pair were discussing the Hillary Clinton e-mail scandal, Trump railed against the former Secretary of State’s “scandalous” private email server.
He then paused, stifled a smile, and hammered little George: “Of course, you shouldn’t be talking to me about that, in all fairness. You shouldn’t be asking me those questions, but I don’t mind.”
We don’t mind watching Trump tear into another member of the pro-Clinton media either.
