Kicking off a ‘Made in America‘ policy-themed week, President Trump held a product showcase designed to highlight American-made products from all 50 states.
The Texas representative for the event was a favorite of numerous former presidents – the Stetson Hat Company.
So when the group encouraged the President to don one of their signature hats, the imagery immediately drew comparisons to a former great Republican president, Ronald Reagan.
It even earned Trump some cheers …

Via the Dallas News:
LBJ famously wore one. So did George W. Bush, Ronald Reagan, Dwight Eisenhower and Teddy Roosevelt.
President Donald Trump on Thursday donned a Stetson — the iconic Western hat made in Garland — at the White House “Made in America” showcase.
As part of the “America First” theme of Trump’s inauguration, the administration this week is featuring U.S. manufacturing. All 50 states were represented at the event, and Garland’s Stetson Hat Company was Texas’ representative.

Stetson traditionally makes a custom hat for each president. Here’s another former president sporting one such hat …
Who wears it better?
It’s the similarities between Trump and former President Ronald Reagan however, that has everyone talking.

Readers at the Conservative Treehouse also noted the similarities …
Here’s a great picture of President Reagan sporting his Stetson during a visit with former Russian president Mikhail Gorbachev – in which he gave Gorbachev his own hat.
When Gorbachev visited @TheReaganRanch, Pres. Reagan gave him a Stetson, which he wore backwards all day.

An excerpt from the book “President Reagan: The Role of a Lifetime”:
Gorbachev and his wife Raisa traveled to Rancho del Cielo, Reagan’s mountaintop ranch northwest of Santa Bar-bara, to have lunch and talk about the good old days. Nancy Reagan re-members it as a happy time. On Sunday, May 3, Reagan took Gorbachev for a spin around the 688-acre ranch in a Jeep with the license plate, “GIP-PER,” and the Reagans gave white cowboy hats to their guests. Gorbachev put his on backwards. Pictures show Reagan, too polite to correct him in front of photographers, staring at Gorbachev’s hat with a bemused look. Gorbachev seemed not to notice or care.
Such a great story!
