President Trump Indicates He May Pardon Sheriff Joe Arpaio

Joe Arpaio, the embattled ex-sheriff of Maricopa County, Arizona, could be in huge trouble.

Arpaio was recently found guilty of criminal contempt. He is supposed to be sentenced on October 5th of this year and could face up to 6 months in prison.

The sheriff was convicted by U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton for refusing to halt his patrols for illegal immigrants.

From Fox News:

“I am seriously considering a pardon for Sheriff Arpaio,” the president said Sunday, during a conversation with Fox News at his club in Bedminster, N.J. “He has done a lot in the fight against illegal immigration. He’s a great American patriot and I hate to see what has happened to him.”

Trump said the pardon could happen in the next few days, should he decide to do so.

“Is there anyone in local law enforcement who has done more to crack down on illegal immigration than Sheriff Joe?” asked President Trump.

I don’t think so. And that’s what makes it even more important to protect him as liberal judges try to lock him up.

For too long, our law enforcement has had its hands tied by liberal politicians who have no problem allowing hordes of illegal aliens into our country. Sheriff Joe was trying to protect our national sovereignty. He shouldn’t have to go to jail for that.
