President Donald Trump dropped a bombshell today, saying that there are no recordings of his conversations with disgraced former FBI Director James Comey.
He noted that he’s not sure if anyone else has them, but they don’t exist at the White House.
With all of the recently reported electronic surveillance, intercepts, unmasking and illegal leaking of information, I have no idea…

…whether there are “tapes” or recordings of my conversations with James Comey, but I did not make, and do not have, any such recordings.

Trump suggested once there were records of Comey just before his highly anticipated testimony before Congress. But when Trump was asked at a Rose Garden press conference about the existence of the tapes, Trump admitted, “you’re going to be very disappointed.”
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich explained exactly what happened:
Former Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) said he thinks President Trump was trying to “rattle” former FBI Director James Comey by suggesting there might be recordings of their conversations.
“I think he was, in his way, instinctively trying to rattle Comey,” Gingrich told The Associated Press.
“He’s not a professional politician. He doesn’t come back and think about Nixon and Watergate. His instinct is: ‘I’ll outbluff you.’ “
Trump is new to politics, but his decades in business taught him necessary survival skills which allowed him to outsmart the former head of the FBI. That’s impressive!
