Trump Overturns Obama’s Coal Mining Restrictions

President Trump is keeping his promise to make America great again, and get rid of the job-killing regulations Obama used to strangle the economy. Now, he destroyed one of Obama’s worst regulations – a coal mining restriction that experts said would be costly to implement and lead to significant job losses.

The rule, forced into the regulatory books as a last-minute effort by Obama to try to kill off the coal industry, blocks coal mining debris from being dumped into nearby streams.

Even some Democrats recognized the Obama rule as a job killer.

Trump signed the bill and invited some special guests to the ceremony – the coal miners!

Via Fox News:

President Donald Trump has put the brakes on a regulation blocking coal mining debris from being dumped into nearby streams.

Trump called the regulation a “job-killing rule” before he signed a measure to overturn it. Lawmakers from coal-mining states stood close by, including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va. and Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va.

Several coal miners and energy company executives also attended the White House signing ceremony.

Republicans and some Democrats argued that the rule could eliminate thousands of coal-related jobs. They said the rule also ignored dozens of existing federal, state and local regulations.

Any time Obama’s environmental regulations are blocked it’s a good thing for the American economy.

At one point, the President even had one of the coal miners say a few words. It was a terrific moment. Watch …

“President Trump, we thank you very much for everything you’ve done for us,” said Mike from Morgantown, West Virginia. “Everything that you’re doing for our industry is very much needed.”

Trump then jokingly asked how he did in the election in Mike’s area.

“Oh, you did great,” was the response.

Compare the love going around the room at this bill signing to what happened to Hillary Clinton just months before the election. She was confronted by an unemployed coal miner who showed her a picture of his kids.

Clinton had vowed to “put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business” on the campaign trail.

President Trump it seems, will be making sure they stay in business.
