Huge news this Friday afternoon as Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price has resigned from the Trump Administration.
There’s been a lot of speculation this week as to whether or not Price would be let go from his position after it was found that he used an expensive private jet to travel on multiple occasions. This cost of the jet travel was covered by taxpayers, and was estimated to be about $400,000.
President Trump was asked earlier if he was considering firing Price. Trump responded: “we’ll see.”
It looks like Trump isn’t going to have a choice in the matter now:

This is a huge blow for conservatives. Not only was Tom Price seen as a health care whiz who was dedicated to repealing Obamacare, he was also seen as a principled fiscal conservative.
The revelation that he used taxpayer-funded private planes to travel was dismaying. For years, Price was a darling of the conservative movement. He used his congressional seat in Georgia to attack Barack Obama and other liberals for their spendthrift ways. And here he was, engaging in the same kind of fiscal irresponsibility he slammed Democrats for engaging in.
It’s all very sad and disappointing. And it just goes to show that if you’re going to talk like a fiscal conservative, you better act like one as well.
