The Political Insider is proud to announce that two of its content writers have been nominated for blogging awards!
Rusty Weiss, who has been writing for The Political Insider since May 2014 and edits one of the top conservative blogs of 2012, the Mental Recession, was nominated for Best Investigative Post of 2014 – Dem Councilwoman: Ferguson Shows Government Is Going to ‘Round Up and Execute’ Blacks.
Alexa Coombs, a freelance writer and communications consultant, was nominated for Best Sunlight Post of 2014 – Obamacare More Than Doubled My Health Insurance Premium in One Year.
The nomination period for the Blogger of the Year Awards was held February 3rd – February 13th. Bloggers had the chance to nominate other bloggers, two journalists, and a blogger outreach professional. See all the nominations.
For the fourth consecutive year, an academy of political bloggers through the National Bloggers Club will vote for their peers to recognize and celebrate great work. Blog Bash organizers estimate up to 400 bloggers will qualify to vote in the only academy of its kind. This is the second year for two new awards which recognize the growth of the blogosphere wouldn’t be possible without other parties: “Journalist of the Year” and “Blogger Advocate of the Year.”
The winners will be announced tonight at the Blog Bash — a one-of-a-kind gathering of right-of-center bloggers — held after hours at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference in National Harbor, MD.
Please join us in wishing them luck!
