White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon May Leave the Job by Friday

It’s been a long time coming, but it looks like White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon may be on his way out of the Trump Administration.

Multiple outlets are reporting that President Trump is unhappy with Bannon. Numerous advisers, including Fox News owner Rupert Murdoch, are pressuring Trump to jettison Bannon.

The tragedy of Charlottesville has put more pressure on Trump to drop his controversial strategist, as many see him as a secret ally of white supremacists. Indeed, it’s not looking good for the former chairman of Breitbart News.

According to The Hill, members of Trump’s National Diversity Council are also pressuring him to drop Bannon. Here are more details from the Daily Mail:

CBS News reported Monday night that the axe could fall as soon as Friday on the man credited with arranging the president’s marriage to millions of angry white working-class voters last year.

The former Breitbart News executive chairman was once an equal partner in a ruling triumvirate of deputies that included Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and presidential son-in-law Jared Kushner.

But Priebus’s star ran out of fuel last month. And his successor John Kelly is a no-nonsense retired Marine Corps general seen as a walking antidote to the chaos that marked Trump’s first half-year in office.

Even Trump has hinted in recent months that he’s not pleased with Bannon, telling the Wall Street Journal in April, “I like Steve, but you have to remember he was not involved in my campaign until very late.”

Many parties think that Trump dumping Bannon will give his White House a better image. I’m skeptical. It’s more than obvious by now that Democrats and the liberal media will never like Trump. They’ll never stop hammering him until he’s impeached. So why give in to them?

Bannon is widely regarded as the keeper of the base. He understands why Trump has the support he does. And he helped engineer one of the greatest political upsets in American history.

Ditching Bannon could doom Trump for 2020. He should think long and hard before making the decision.
