Sheriff David Clarke is one of America’s finest law enforcement officers, and has been a vocal supporter of President Donald Trump since the beginning.
For months, Sheriff Clarke has been rumored for a job in the Trump administration, and was vetted last December, but was never hired.
Well, it can now be confirmed that Sheriff Clarke will be leaving his job in Milwaukee and assuming a role in the Trump administration, specifically the Department of Homeland Security.

From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:
He will work in the department’s Office of Partnership and Engagement as a liaison with state, local and tribal law enforcement and governments. “I’m looking forward to joining that team,” Clarke said Thursday afternoon on the Vicki McKenna talk show on 1130 WISN Radio. Clarke said one of his responsibilities would be to “take complaints of shortcomings in the Department of Homeland Security.”
“They feel like they’re being ignored,” Clarke said of his counterparts in local law enforcement. The position of assistant secretary does not require Senate confirmation. Clarke has said in the past that it would be difficult to turn down a job offer from President Donald Trump if he was asked to join the administration.
Clarke will work for Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly, a retired Marine general. The department was created in the wake of 9/11. The department’s duties range from counter-terrorism to enforcing immigration laws. Clarke said Thursday that he had informed Gov. Scott Walker of his decision to take the federal post and expected to advise Walker on the appointment of a successor to complete his term. He would have been up for re-election in November 2018.
Sheriff Clarke has been a strong defender of America’s law enforcement, and frequently used his public profile to rail against the anti-police Black Lives Matter movement. Despite being a Democrat, he has been extremely vocal in his party’s support for lawlessness across the country.
His strong support for America’s law enforcement will be a valuable asset in the Department of Homeland Security and for America.
