President Donald Trump’s White House is considering conservative Sheriff David Clarke of Wisconsin for a position at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The news was confirmed by 3 people involved with the administration’s planning.
Clarke has been an outspoken critic of Black Lives Matter and has been a champion of police officers who were under assault during the Obama years.
This is fantastic news!
Clarke is in line to be appointed as assistant secretary at DHS’ Office of Partnership and Engagement, which coordinates outreach to state, local and tribal officials and law enforcement. The position does not require Senate confirmation.
A senior administration official cautioned it’s “not a done deal yet.”
Clarke, a longtime supporter of President Donald Trump, has long been rumored as a possible candidate for a job in the administration and met with Trump in November at Trump Tower. He also spoke at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland last year.
Meanwhile, today Soros-funded liberal organizations are using May Day rallies to protest Clarke. Pathetic!:
Thousands are expected to take to the streets of Wisconsin on Monday to demand that the governor remove controversial Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke, a tough-talking firebrand who wants to use his deputies and correction officers to enforce federal immigration laws.
Among other concerns, organizers of the march in Milwaukee are critical of Clarke’s desire to join the Department of Homeland Security’s 287(g) program, which essentially deputizes local law enforcement agencies to operate as federal immigration agents.
Sheriff Clarke is an American patriot who would be a fantastic choice to help Trump’s DHS secure the homeland. Now, the question is- Will he accept?
