Anthony Scaramucci No Longer White House Communications Director

Well, that didn’t last long.

Just one week ago, former Wall Street trader Anthony Scaramucci was appointed White House Communications Director.

But now it looks like Scaramucci, or “Mooch,” as he has become known, has been given the pink slip.

More from the New York Times:

The decision to remove Mr. Scaramucci, who had boasted about reporting directly to the president not the chief of staff, John F. Kelly, came at Mr. Kelly’s request, the people said. Mr. Kelly made clear to members of the White House staff at a meeting Monday morning that he is in charge.

It was not clear whether Mr. Scaramucci will remain employed at the White House in another position or will leave altogether.

Wow. What a whirlwind week for the White House. Scaramucci gets in, Sean Spicer and Reince Priebus get out. Now Scaramucci is out.

I, for one, welcome this development. While I like a tough-talking guy by Trump’s side, Scaramucci had some massive missteps. First of all, you don’t mock your West Wing colleagues to a liberal reporter. Period. Scaramucci’s expletive-laced remarks to the New Yorker’s Ryan Lizza crossed the line.

President Trump was right to remove Scaramucci. His role is best suited to being a TV surrogate.
