Comedian Roseanne Barr Defends President Trump from Leftist Attacks

It’s no secret that Hollywood is overwhelming liberal, with celebrities frequently using their platform to blast Republicans and conservative principles. Most recently, far-left actress Meryl Streep used her platform at the 2017 Golden Globe Awards to blast President Trump and his electoral victory over Democrat Hillary Clinton.

While most in Hollywood are quick to bash President Donald J. Trump, one celebrity had the courage to stand up and defend our president from attacks on the left.

Legendary comedian Roseanne Barr took to Twitter Monday to defend the president, calling attacks on the president were really “disguised” attacks on the millions of American voters who supported Trump.

Throughout the 2016 campaign, Barr vocally spoke out in favor of then-candidate Trump, arguing that he was much better than Hillary Clinton. The famed Hollywood star told the Hollywood Reporter America “would be so lucky if Trump won. Because then it wouldn’t be Hillary” and explained why she liked his candidacy:

I like Trump because he financed his own [campaign]. That’s the only way he could’ve gotten that nomination. Because nobody wants a president who isn’t from Yale and Harvard and in the club. ‘Cause it’s all about distribution. When you’re in the club, you’ve got people that you sell to. That’s how money changes hands, that’s how business works. If you’ve got friends there, they scratch your back and blah, blah.

Roseanne is no stranger to politics, and sought the Green Party’s nomination for president in 2012, eventually losing out to eventual nominee Jill Stein. Barr then ran on the Peace and Freedom Party ticket that year with anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan serving as her running mate.

It’s easy for most of Hollywood to attack President Trump, as their fellow celebrities will rush to their defense. Roseanne Barr’s decision to break with Hollywood and stand with our president took real courage, and likely will be met with strong blowback from her liberal colleagues.

Do you agree with Roseanne that attacks on President Trump are really an attack on the American people? Share your thoughts below!
