Democrat Senator Richard Blumenthal called on President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee to undergo ‘extreme vetting.’ The Senator probably should have kept his mouth shut, given his own secrets from the past.
Blumenthal said Gorsuch should have “every aspect of his background” investigated by Democrat committee members before they vote to confirm him to the highest court in the land.
Irony, it seems, is lost on Mr. Blumenthal. Especially since lurking in his own background is the fact that the senator lied about his military service for decades.
What a disgrace!
Via the Free Beacon:
A Democratic senator who lied about his military service for decades is now calling on his colleagues to thoroughly vet the background of President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee.
Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D., Conn.), a member of the Senate committee that handles legal confirmation hearings, said that Appellate Court Judge Neil Gorsuch will face tough questions about his background. He said the Colorado-based judge will have “every aspect of his background” investigated by Democratic committee members before his nomination to the nation’s highest court moves forward.
“It is important that every aspect of his background be critically and closely scrutinized,” Blumenthal told the Wall Street Journal.
A man that essentially has ‘stolen valor’ on his own resume is calling for a thorough background check on Judge Gorsuch, who’s own resume is pristine.
No one listens 2 @SenBlumenthal since he lied about his military record-pathological liar & hypocrite with zero credibility #SpecialReport

Radical Leftist @SenBlumenthal who lied and created a fake military record to get elected, if very upset Trump called out a Lawless Judge

Blumenthal was in the Marine Reserves and never served in Vietnam. He received five deferments to avoid going to war between 1965 and 1970.
Yet, that never stopped him from such declarations as “We have learned something very important since the days that I served in Vietnam,” a pronouncement made during the 2008 campaign season.
He repeatedly made the claim “I served in Vietnam,” knowing full well he had not.
Once the truth had finally been revealed by the New York Times in 2010, Blumenthal stated “On a few occasions, I have misspoken about my service, and I regret that, and I take full responsibility.”
How does one misspeak about serving in Vietnam once, let alone on a few occasions?
Now this man has the audacity to call for a thorough background check on a man with a spotless record?
Unlike some Republicans, President Trump wasn’t afraid to take on Blumenthal directly:
Sen.Richard Blumenthal, who never fought in Vietnam when he said for years he had (major lie),now misrepresents what Judge Gorsuch told him?

Perhaps, had Connecticut Democrats performed their own background check on Blumenthal, he wouldn’t have been elected Senator.
Those in glass houses …
