When Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez introduced her “Green New Deal” plan this month–a full blown socialist scheme to radically transform America–many Democratic 2020 presidential hopefuls immediately supported it. Now we are beginning to learn who helped put it together, with billionaire leftist George Soros standing out as a prime culprit.
These things don’t just happen by accident.
According to Breitbart, the Green New Deal blueprint was put together by “well-funded professional progressive groups and known leftist agitators,” including people associated with Occupy Wall Street and Black Lives Matter, with financing ties to Soros.
‘Green New Deal’s’ Radical Roots
Ocasio-Cortez was joined by three groups in drawing up the Green New Deal, the Sunrise Movement, Justice Democrats and a group that calls itself New Consensus.
The New Yorker reported:
The document was written over a single December weekend by the staff of the freshman representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and three like-minded progressive groups, none of which existed two years ago: the Sunrise Movement, a grassroots climate organization; the Justice Democrats, which recruits and supports progressive candidates; and an upstart policy shop called the New Consensus.
“Sunrise was in part inspired by the activism of Occupy Wall Street, Black Lives Matter and the radical immigration group United We Dream,” Breitbart notes.
Connecting the Dots
Inside Philanthropy reported that Sunrise received donations from the Rockefeller Family Fund. Sunrise also sponsored an activist campaign called “Operation Green New Deal Blitz.”
The co-sponsors of this Sunrise effort include 350.org, Organic Consumers Association, People’s Action, CPD Action and Justice Democrats (emphasis added).
CPD Action is key in following the money trail.
“CPD Action is led by Ana Maria Archila, one of the two women who infamously confronted Arizona Republican Sen. Jeff Flake in an elevator prior to the confirmation hearings for Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh,” Breitbart reports. “Archila was a guest of Ocasio-Cortez for Trump’s State of the Union.”
“CPD, which is advocating the Green New Deal, is heavily financed by billionaire George Soros,” Breitbart notes (emphasis added).

In October 2014, literature that was part of a CPD event listed Soros’s Open Society Foundations as one of CPD’s ‘three biggest funders.’ The Foundations provided the CPD with $130,000 in 2014 and $1,164,500 in 2015, tax documents show. In 2016, Soros’s Open Society Policy Center provided $705,000 to the Center for Popular Democracy’s Action Fund…
Soros’ Tangled Socialist Web
So basically the tangled financial web that Soros has been weaving throughout the far left for many years is what’s propping her the Green New Deal.
“CPD is highly involved in anti-Trump activism,” Breitbart observes. “In May 2017, CNN reported that the Center for Popular Democracy Action fund unveiled an ‘$80 million effort to coordinate the work of dozens of smaller progressive groups from around the country’ as part of what the news network characterized as the anti-Trump ‘resistance” movement.”
No one should be surprised by these reported ties to Soros. No one should be surprised he’s reportedly behind Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s reckless plan. This is what these radicals do, and in the “AOC” they now have a political celebrity to help push this agenda.
