Ray Lewis: Racist Tweet from Kaepernick’s Girlfriend Cost Him Job With Ravens

While many think exiled quarterback Colin Kaepernick made his own bed, liberals continue to blame his ongoing unemployment on systematic racism within the NFL. However, Baltimore Ravens legend Ray Lewis has poked a huge hole in that narrative.

On Tuesday, Lewis revealed on Inside the NFL that the Ravens were all set to sign Kaepernick as a back-up to Joe Flacco until Kaepernick’s girlfriend, radio host Nessa Diab, leveled an extremely racist meme at Lewis:

The meme compares Lewis and Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti to Samuel L. Jackson’s and Leonardo DiCaprio’s characters in the Quentin Tarantino film “Django Unchained.” In that film, DiCaprio plays a cruel slave owner; Jackson is his fiercely loyal house slave. In effect, Diab accused Lewis of being an Uncle Tom.

But why did Diab take such a racist shot at Lewis, someone who was trying to help Kaepernick? Well, just two days prior, Lewis posted a video to Twitter suggesting to Kaepernick that he keep his social activism efforts private as he searches for another opportunity in the NFL:

That seems like perfectly sound advice. However, it seems Diab would prefer that Kaepernick remain a ridiculed outcast.

As for Lewis, he was understandably shocked by Diab’s racism:

“[Kaepernick’s] girl goes out and put out this racist gesture and doesn’t know we are in the back office about to try to get this guy signed. Steve Bisciotti has said it himself: ‘How can you crucify Ray Lewis when Ray Lewis is the one calling for Colin Kaepernick?'”

On a related note, this is not the first time Diab has landed Kaepernick in hot water. In Sept. 2016, rumors swirled that Diab – an Egyptian-American Muslim who was raised in Saudi Arabia – had converted Kaepernick to Islam. Kaepernick denied the rumors – and contended that they were only started due to Islamaphobia caused by Donald Trump.
