East Coast Liberal Elites Want to Erase All MEN!

Princeton University

Oh man, can you believe this?

In an example of political correctness gone totally insane, the Human Resources Department at Princeton University has advised employees to stop using the word ‘man’ in describing people because it’s not “inclusive” enough.

A new memo, titled ‘Guidelines for Using Gender Inclusive Language,’ is to be adhered to by all HR staff, and wipes out use of the word ‘man’ in all situations. Employees are no longer permitted to say such phrases as ‘workmanlike,’ ‘man power,’ or even ‘man and wife.’

Perhaps the most absurd example advises employees that instead of saying ‘mankind,’ they must now use the phrase ‘humankind,’ which of course has ‘m-a-n’ in it.

Via the College Fix:

The Princeton University HR department has largely wiped the word “man” from its vocabulary. The relatively new policy in effect at the Ivy League institution spells out the directive in a four-page memo that aims to make the department more gender inclusive.Instead of using “man,” employees are told to use words such as human beings, individuals or people.Other guidelines? Instead of “man and wife” use spouses or partners. Switch out “man made” with artificial, handmade or manufactured. Don’t use the verb “to man,” as in to work something, instead use to operate or to staff. Throw out workmanlike and replace it with skillful. The memo goes on to list a variety of occupations that typically include the word “man” in them and offers replacements: business person instead of businessman, firefighter instead of fireman, ancestors instead of forefathers, and so on.

John Cramer, Princeton’s director of media relations, told the College Fix that the guidelines “reflect the university’s initiative of fostering an inclusive environment.”

Why not just go a step further and implement a policy similar to a Nebraska school district that tried to get their employees to refer to students as “campers” or “purple penguins.”

Inclusiveness for me, but not for thee is the new … ahem … mantra on college campuses these days.

Inclusive for everyone … just not every man.
