Now we’re starting to understand why Democrats are beginning to back away from the Russia investigation.
A few days ago Democrat Senator Chris Murphy from Connecticut said, “The fact that we have spent so much time talking about Russia has been a distraction.” Hmmm, I wonder WHY they are only now admitting it has been a distraction?
Maybe because they’ve found ZERO evidence connecting President Trump to Russia, and instead all the Obama Administration’s dirty laundry is being exposed for the world to see. In Democrats’ foolhardy rush to investigate they are damaging the reputation of their own former president.
The Washington Post just published a big article about what happened behind the scenes in the Obama administration last year on Russia. According to what the Post describes as “a former senior Obama administration official involved in White House deliberations on Russia,” the administration dropped the ball: “I feel like we sort of choked.”
They totally choked! All the Russian espionage and hacking happened under Obama’s watch and yet liberals and the media want to blame it on Trump and use it to delegitimize his election win and presidency!
Here’s what President Trump said in response to the Washington Post report:

Good questions!
The Washington Examiner made some good points about how Obama’s inaction against Russia interference before the election is damning:
[Obama] “feared that any action would be seen as political and that Putin, motivated by a seething resentment of Clinton, was prepared to go beyond fake news and email dumps.”
It’s a pathetic excuse.
For one, it implies Obama feared that by upsetting Putin, the Russian leader might have leaked more damaging information on Clinton. More importantly however, it reflects how Obama was consistently out-escalated by the Russian leader.
Put simply, Obama got scared.
This WaPo report is just reminding us about how pathetic a leader Obama was.
Meanwhile, the Democrats’ Russia witch hunt has trapped two Obama officials:
Former Attorney General Loretta Lynch is now under Senate investigation because of Former FBI Director James Comey’s testimony that she interfered with the Clinton email investigation. Of course, we found that out when Comey was called in for questioning about President Trump’s non-existent dealings with Russia.
We also found out that former National Security Advisor Susan Rice inappropriately unmasked private citizens associated with President Trump’s administration and campaign who were incidentally caught up in intelligence surveillance of Russia.
Who will be next? I’m not so sure Democrats want to know. That’s why some of them (smartly) want to move on.
