Earlier today, we at The Political Insider reported that Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle was under consideration to serve as Donald Trump’s White House Press Secretary.
Well, we can now confirm that another Fox News personality, Monica Crowley, who had been considered for the press secretary job, has been tapped to be a deputy national security adviser, specifically senior director of strategic communications, in the Trump White House.
Crowley was an early Trump supporter, and described herself as a “happy warrior.” Earlier in her carer she worked for former President Richard Nixon as a foreign policy assistant.

In response to the speculation, Crowley told The New York Post, “It would be an honor to serve in the new administration.”

The sources said it wasn’t yet clear if her title would mirror that of Ben Rhodes, who currently serves as the U.S. Deputy National Security Advisor for Strategic Communications. Rhodes was one of Obama’s the most influential staff members and had a critical hand in shaping the administration’s global security policies and then selling those policies to the world.
Crowley has been a vocal critic of the Obama administration and Hillary Clinton’s foreign policy positions, particularly their avoidance of the term “radical Islamic terrorism.”

Crowley joins KT McFarland, who will be Trump’s Deputy National Security Adviser, as the second Fox News employee to join the new administration next year.
