Megyn Kelly’s Ratings Tank!

Megyn Kelly’s attempt to rebrand herself hasn’t gone as planned.

When she started hosting her own show at Fox News, she cultivated the image of a no-nonsense conservative host. But she lost that image among many of her fans during her feuding with then-candidate Donald Trump. Many of her pro-Trump viewers felt alienated and stopped watching the show.

Since then she’s left Fox and joined NBC. She debuted with a Vladimir Putin interview, and got owned by the man when she pressed him on alleged Russian interference in the U.S. election. Her ratings peaked with her debut – and the trajectory has only been downward from there.

Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly” continued its downward trajectory in the Sunday overnight ratings, with the new NBC news magazine slipping to a new low in both the key demo and total viewers. Meanwhile, Fox fell to an average of less than 1 million viewers on a rerun-dominated night.

Airing at 7 p.m., “Sunday Night” averaged a 0.4 rating in adults 18-49 and 3.4 million viewers, according to Nielsen data. That is down from a 0.5 and 3.6 million viewers last week’s episode, which featured Kelly’s controversial interview with InfoWars founder Alex Jones.

In the timeslot, “Sunday Night” lost out to CBS’ “60 Minutes,” which was down from its last new episode on June 11 with a 0.7 and 7.2 million viewers. ABC led the night with a rerun of “America’s Funniest Home Videos” (0.7, 3.9 million).

Being beaten by the reruns is not a promising sign for the new host.

It’s not hard to speculate as to why she’s doing so poorly. For starters, she didn’t bring over her Fox audience when she joined NBC. As viewers of the only mainstream conservative network on television, they viewed Kelly’s defection to NBC as a betrayal. Meanwhile, the liberals viewers of NBC see her as a conservative because she came from Fox.

Liberals won’t watch her because they think she’s a conservative, and conservatives won’t watch her because they think she’s a liberal.

Even some of Kelly’s former colleagues at Fox are criticizing her after her fall from grace. Hannity went on the offensive in his monologue last Friday by identifying two people most responsible for reporting fake news about the Trump administration —the presidents of CNN and NBC news. “Are you proud, Megyn?,” he then quipped.

If I had Kelly’s terrible ratings, I wouldn’t be proud. I can tell you that.
