We have just learned that a Long Island Rail Road train has derailed in Brooklyn, with initial reports suggesting that has many as 20 people are being treated for multiple injuries.

The derailment happened at Atlantic Terminal. Pictures on social media showed the derailment took place on track 6, and that the train was tipped slightly at an angle.
The platform also appeared to be smoky.
As of 8:50 a.m. the MTA did not have any information on its website.
The derailment occurred at about 8:30 a.m. and a “female passenger told ABC station WABC in New York she heard a big “boom” as the train was coming into the terminal.”
