“Women’s March” Founder Linda Sarsour Has Family Members Linked to Terrorism

Linda Sarsour has been a rising darling of the Left following her role as one of the organizers of the anti-Trump Women’s March. Sarsour, who heads the Arab American Association of New York and was an Obama White House “Champion of Change,” spoke at last month’s 15th annual convention of the Muslim American Society and Islamic Circle of North America.

Her public support for Sharia Law has been widely documented, and she has some radical ties that are worth drawing attention to.

You can find on Facebook that back in April Sarsour spoke at a banquet with Imam Siraj Wahhaj. Prior to giving her now-infamous speech calling for “jihad” against the Trump Administration, she thanked her “favorite person in this room…Imam Siraj Wahhaj, who has been a mentor, motivator, and encourager of mine.”

According to CAIR Minnesota’s website, “Siraj Wahhaj is one of the most admired Muslim leaders and speakers in America. He is the imam of Al-Taqwa Mosque in Brooklyn, NY and serves on the executive committee of the Muslim Alliance in North America (MANA). He previously served on the national board of the Council on American-Islamic Relations.”

They also note that in 1991, Wahhaj made history as the first Muslim to offer the opening prayer at the U.S. House of Representatives. They don’t mention that a mere four years later, he was among the 170 people identified as unindicted co-conspirators in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. Despite never being charged, he did defend the convicted bomb plotters, and called the FBI and CIA the “real terrorists.”

And being an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 WTC bombing is hardly the only thing on Siraj’s rapsheet. In fact, I dedicated a section to him in my book “A Paradoxical Alliance,” (pages 148-49) and I quote:

According to the website of CAIR Minnesota, “Siraj Wahhaj is one of the most admired Muslim leaders and speakers in America. He is the imam of Al-Taqwa Mosque in Brooklyn, NY and serves on the executive committee of the Muslim Alliance in North America (MANA). He previously served on the national board of the Council on American-Islamic Relations.”

And that’s not all. Among the most shocking connections she has to terrorists are within her own family.

One of the Sarsour family members is Salah Sarsour, known to have been a board member of Americans For Palestine a board member of the Islamic Society of Milwaukee and the registered agent for the Wisconsin chapter of the Muslim American Society (MAS), a part of the US Muslim Brotherhood closely tied to the Egyptian organization. His brother Jamil is a Milwaukee businessman and known Hamas operative. Jamil Sarsour was arrested in Israel in 1998 for providing financial and other assistance to HAMAS military commander Adel Awadallah who is known to have planned suicide bombings in Israel. Jamil Sarsour eventually pleaded guilty in an Israeli military court to giving $40,000 to Awadallah. During an interview with Israeli police, Jamil Sarsour said his brother Salah had been arrested by the Palestinian police in 1995 and when he visited him saw that he shared a cell with Awadallah. Jamil Sarsour described to the Israelis his brother Salah’s involvement with Hamas and fundraising activities by the U.S.-based Holy Land Relief Foundation (HLFRD) on behalf of Hamas. Sarsour told the Israelis that some of the members of the Islamic Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and his brothers Salah and Imad were involved in raising money in the name of HLFRD that was actually intended or HAMAS.

There is ample reason to believe that such a connection exists between the two, as was reported by a university newspaper in 2004:

As the presidential election grew near, Linda Sarsour sat in her small office at the Arab-American Association in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, looking at the photos of two thickly bearded young Arabs on the front page of an Arabic-language newspaper.

The paper carried fervent slogans calling on young people to become martyrs in the conflict with Israel.

Sarsour, a 24-year-old Palestinian-American, sighed. One of the men, she said, was a cousin who has been in Israeli jails for 25 years. The other man, she said, was a family friend serving a 99-year prison sentence in Israel.

Her brother-in-law, she said, is also serving a 12-year sentence, accused of being an activist in the Hamas, the religious militant group, though, she said, he was secular in his beliefs.

In 2012, the New York Times confirmed that members of her family had been arrested on accusations of supporting Hamas. In addition, the Daily Caller reported earlier this week that Sarsour had posed for pictures recently with Salah Sasour:

Why is this the activist the Left is embracing in the age of “resistance” against Trump? Why is someone affiliated with radical Islam an idol for liberals?
