Outwardly, they may have been defending Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server, but internally top aides were freaking out at the idea that somebody would be so stupid as to approve the idea.

Clinton loyalist Neera Tanden emailed campaign manager John Podesta to advise him that whoever told her “she could use a private email” should be “drawn and quartered.”

Tanden then surmised that the entire concept was “f***ing insane.”

Hillary Clinton’s decision to use a private email server while she was secretary of state set off one of her closest advisers.

In newly-released emails from WikiLeaks, Neera Tanden, co-chair of Clinton’s transition team, fumes at John Podesta, Clinton’s campaign chair, over who could have approved her using the private system.

Tanden said whomever gave the OK should be “drawn and quartered,” calling the whole situation “f***ing insane” in a July 2015 message.

As you can see from the subject line, the original topic of discussion was a CNN poll that Tanden was due to discuss with Jake Tapper over the weekend.

On Friday evening, Tanden wrote to Podesta, “Well, let’s see what the poll actually says.” Just after midnight, roughly five hours later, Tanden writes again thoroughly dismayed by the email situation. Did she actually see the results at that point?

The poll was released to the public that Sunday, showing Sanders inching ever-closer to Clinton in their race for the Democrat Party nomination.

Also that same week, the New York Times reported that two Inspectors General had asked the Department of Justice to investigate whether Clinton mishandled sensitive government information.

Perhaps the stress of Clinton’s illegal actions was finally starting to get to even her staunchest supporters.
