President’s Committee on the Arts & the Humanities Disbands Before Ever Meeting

The mainstream media has reported on the disbandment of various councils President Donald Trump started as evidence that his administration is in turmoil. However, I imagine most Trump supporters look at the news and think to themselves “great, one less thing for the government to spend money on.”

Trump dissolved two business councils following a wave of resignations from CEOs who pretended to be outraged by Trump’s response to the events that unfolded in Charlottesville. But that wasn’t all. The “President’s Committee on the Arts & the Humanities” meanwhile took things a step further, resigning en masse under the leadership of actor Kal Penn. You’ll notice that the first letter of each paragraph spells out “RESIST,” an obvious swipe at the President.

What an act of defiance!

There’s only one problem…….

Not only was this a committee that Trump didn’t create (you can thank Barack Obama for it), it hadn’t met a single time under Trump’s presidency before their “heroic” decision to disband.

It’s amusing reading all the tweets praising Kal for “sticking it” to Trump. I’ll praise the man too while I’m at it: Thanks for accidentally saving American taxpayers from paying for a useless committee!

Remember, government doesn’t guarantee that art gets created. It guarantees that bad art with no market value gets created.
