Joe Scarborough Slams Trump Supporters – ‘These People Are In A Cult’

Scarborough Trump

On Wednesday morning’s episode of “Morning Joe,” host Joe Scarborough slammed supporters of former President Donald Trump, saying “these people are in a cult.”

Scarborough Sounds Off On Republicans

Scarborough, who was previously a Republican congressman, began by expressing his disappointment at “figuring out what happened to the people I grew up with,” who are conservatives that now support Trump. He then went so far as to say the people who still support Trump “are in a cult.”

“All the people who claim to be conservatives were saying the same thing for 50 years that Liz Cheney was saying, that I said in Congress,” Scarborough claimed. “And now, I don’t understand it now. I don’t understand why my friends … and my family members still follow this man. Nothing conservative about him.”

“It’s what you remember me saying and what Mika remembers me saying through the 2016 campaign,” he added. “I said it — go back, look through the tapes. I warned Republicans, there’s nothing conservative about this man. He’s hijacking your party.”

‘These People Are In A Cult’

“These people are in a cult,” he went on to add.

“And it allows them to separate everything they’ve learned in school, everything they’ve learned in church, everything they’ve read in Jesus’ words, everything they’ve read in the New Testament, everything they’ve read in the Gospels, everything they’ve read in the Old Testament, and they’re able to separate that and embrace this alternate reality,” he added.

This comes one week after Scarborough’s cohost and wife Mika Brzezinski accused Trump of taking the GOP “hostage” as she reacted to a Wall Street Journal op-ed entitled, “Purging Liz Cheney.”

Brzezinski Goes Off

“Joe, it just goes back to our lead story, and how serious it is — what this judge has said about the Trump presidency, about the Mueller report that the president with the help of the attorney general used the Mueller report to drum up hate, to foment anger, and it all led up to January 6, and by the way, took the Republican Party hostage, and they are choosing to stay there,” she said.

Scarborough then chimed in to attack Republicans, saying, “they’re continuing to lie about the 2020 election when everybody knows they’re lying about the 2020 election.”

After touting what he described as Cheney’s conservative voting record, Scarborough added, “This is madness.”
