Defense Secretary Mattis Praises Naval Officers As Only He Can

Defense Secretary James ‘Mad Dog‘ Mattis is certainly making life interesting for stenographers these days.

During a speech to naval officers at a Troop Event in Naval Base Kitsap, Washington, Mattis dropped some colorful language praising them for the value of their service.

Joining the Navy “means you’re living,” he explained, adding “that means you’re not some p**** sitting on the sidelines … saying, ‘Well, I should have done something with my life.'”

While a vast majority of those in attendance didn’t think twice about the alpha male language, we managed to capture an image of one distraught liberal upon hearing Mattis’ comments.

Via the Free Beacon:

Secretary of Defense James Mattis addressed a group of sailors last week and used characteristically blunt language about the value of their service.

“You will have some of the best days of your life and some of the worst days of your life in the U.S. Navy, you know what I mean?” Mattis said. “That means you’re living. That means you’re not some pussy sitting on the sidelines, you know what I mean, kind of sitting there saying, ‘Well, I should have done something with my life.'”

“Because of what you’re doing now, you’re not going to be laying on a shrink’s couch when you’re 45 years old, say ‘What the hell did I do with my life?'” he added. “Why? Because you served others; you served something bigger than you.”

One retired Marine on social media seemed to appreciate the comments for what they were – funny.

Even more amusing, the statement was transcribed in whole on the Department of Defense website.

NBC News, however, nearly had an aneurysm at the thought that a career military man might use such language, calling it a “disparaging term” and a “vulgar comment.”

They also couldn’t help themselves by taking the opportunity to point out President Trump’s past use of the term:

Mattis wouldn’t be the first member of the executive branch to make vulgar comments. Trump used the same obscenity in a 2005 conversation that was caught on tape and unearthed in October.

Yes, because Trump and Mattis are the only two men in the public square to use such a term.

Weird, I don’t recall NBC ever covering the story of this Maine Democrat and throwing a fit over his ‘disparaging’ and ‘vulgar’ comments.

Must only be bad form when it’s a Trump official.
