Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Calls Out Media Lies Over Hamas

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu just launched his own war on fake news. Over the weekend he put out a video where he eviscerated the media for believing the lies of Israel’s enemies in Gaza, the Hamas terrorists.

Last week Hamas came out with what it called “A Document of General Principles and Policies” and the Mainstream Media seized on the news that they were willing to go back to the borders before the 1967 Six Day War.

PM Netanyahu explains exactly why this is fake news:

Ever wonder what fake news is?

Last week, headlines in CNN, Al-Jazeera and The Guardian said that Hamas now accepts a Palestinian state along the 1967 lines.

The New York Times headline called this “moderation.”

Here are the headlines:

The Guardian: Hamas presents new charter accepting a Palestine based on 1967 borders
al-Jazeera: Hamas accepts Palestinian state with 1967 borders
CNN: Hamas says it accepts ’67 borders, but doesn’t recognize Israel
NYT: In Palestinian Power Struggle, Hamas Moderates Talk On Israel

Sounds reasonable, doesn’t it? Obviously, Israel would never agree to this not least because it would make Israel’s borders indefensible, but it progresses from Hamas refusing to allow Israel to have any borders at all.

Or is it?

The intimation is that Hamas now accepts the State of Israel.

Great news, right?

Well, except for one small detail: this is a complete distortion of the truth. The new Hamas document says Israel has no right to exist. It says every inch of our land belongs to the Palestinians. It says there is no acceptable solution other than to remove Israel.

He is correct, the document says, “The establishment of ‘Israel’ is entirely illegal … There shall be no recognition of the legitimacy of the Zionist entity… Hamas rejects any alternative to the full and complete liberation of Palestine, from the river to the sea.”

Hamas proposes it go back to the 1967 borders “without compromising its rejection of  the Zionist entity and without relinquishing any Palestinian rights.” So, really, there is no difference and any attempt to tell you otherwise is just false.

So why does Hamas say there is a consensus for a smaller Palestinian state now?

In order to destroy Israel later. They want to use their state to destroy our state.

Like I said, if Israel were to give up more of their land, their borders would become indefensible. The more land Hamas can get, the deeper into Israel they can strike, and we know that ultimate their goal is to wipe Israel off the map.

Another supposed “moderation” that has been noted in the Hamas document is this statement on who their enemy is: “Hamas affirms that its conflict is with the Zionist project not with the Jews because of their religion. Hamas does not wage a struggle against the Jews because they are Jewish but wages a struggle against the Zionists who occupy Palestine.” That’s a distinction without much of a difference (I also don’t believe it).

Is moving from calling for genocide of all Jews to calling just for the annihilation of Israel – is that progress, or moderation?

Only if you have no standards whatsoever!

What can I say, the NYT, et al have no standards and I’m sure there are many Palestinian advocates who will hold up this news as if the terrorist group has just made some grand and reasonable concession that Israel must likewise offer.

It’s bad enough Hamas lies to the world. We don’t also have to lie to ourselves.

Hamas murders women and children. Its launched thousands of missile attacks at our homes. It brainwashes Palestinian kids in suicide kindergarten camps.

Look no further than the 2014 war and how Hamas launched attacks from civilian areas in Gaza using their own people as human shields. Children are trained in summer camps from a very young age to wage jihad against Israel. This is a deadly terrorist organization that will never become anywhere near moderate.

So, where does this hate-filled document belong?

Netanyahu crumples the document up and throws it in the trash which is where it, and any other apologia for the destruction of Israel, belongs.
