Immediately After Leaving Fox News, Megyn Kelly Gets Horrible News!

Former Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly made a dramatic exit from the popular channel, and will now continue her television career at liberal NBC. She made the move after the right-of-center audience of Fox News grew tired of her bias, especially during the 2016 Republican presidential primary debates and her treatment of now President-elect Donald J. Trump.

But Kelly just received horrible news. Polling shows she will immediately take a massive ratings hit, as Republicans and Trump-supporters simply won’t watch. As Morning Consult reports, her move will almost certainly be a massive ratings failure:

Megyn Kelly is headed to NBC News, an event that a majority of adults knew about — only 31 percent of people in a recent Morning Consult poll said they have heard nothing about it. Thirty-six percent of male Democrats said they are more likely to watch Kelly on NBC News, compared to 29 percent of Republican men who said they are less likely to do the same. The change was smaller among women — 18 percent of female Democrats said they are more likely to watch Kelly on NBC News, versus 25 percent of Republican women who said her move makes them less likely to watch her program. Forty-seven percent of adults polled said her move will have no effect on their inclination to tune in.

This is such a dramatic change that Megyn would have to completely alter her reporting style and adapt to justify her massive salary.

In the meantime, Fox News isn’t missing her. Conservative host Tucker Carlson is already a record-breaking ratings success:

Carlson averaged 493,000 viewers in the key 25-54 demo, beating out CNN’s town hall special with Bernie Sanders (414,000) and The Rachel Maddow Show (324,000).

Overall, Tucker Carlson Tonight averaged 2.699 million total viewers, nearly beating the combined total of MSNBC’s The Rachel Maddow Show (1.369 million) and CNN’s town hall special (1.357 million).

Compared to Kelly’s numbers on the same day last year, Carlson was up 27 percent in total viewers and a whopping 45 percent in the key 25-54 demographic, showing that Fox News may not wind up missing Kelly as much as everyone thought.
