Illinois Announces “Barack Obama Day” – Snubs Former President Ronald Reagan

Former President Barack Obama is getting his own official holiday. The governor of Illinois, Bruce Rauner, has officially declared August 4 as “Barack Obama Day” beginning in 2018. The governor signed the bill in “recognition of Obama’s career serving in the Illinois State Senate, the United States Senate and as president,” according to ABC 7.

Now in the Land of Lincoln, Obama will be honored. The bill passed both houses of the state legislature, without a single “No” vote.:

Considering Obama’s eight years were a disaster, we should remember those eight years were a holiday for the Obama family. And with the serious violent crime and poverty suffered by Chicago, this is a fitting tribute to Obama’s legacy.

But Obama didn’t move to Chicago until the 1980s, where he worked as a “community organizer.” Born in Hawaii, he moved to Seattle, Indonesia, Los Angeles, and then attended Columbia in New York City.

And now that he’s out of the White House, he has no plans to move back. Instead, the Obamas own luxury accommodations in Washington, D.C., Palm Springs, California, and Honolulu. Obama’s Chicago-ties are only out of his own political convenience.

Why has the state ignored Ronald Reagan? After all, he was born in Tampico, Illinois, in 1911 on 2nd floor apartment in a commercial building. He even attended Eureka College, which is in Illinois. That is really disgraceful.
