Take a Look At How Ronald Reagan Dealt With Violent Berkeley Protesters

A few weeks back, violent leftist rioters shut down a planned speech by conservative speaker Milo Yiannopoulos.

The thugs set a large bonfire on the campus, used metal barricades to smash windows, and attacked innocent people.

President Trump had a good response in threatening to withhold federal funding from Berkeley.

Archive footage of Ronald Reagan shows the former president didn’t tolerate violent protesters on college campuses either.  Funny enough, it was also at the University of California at Berkeley.

Academic officials urged the president to negotiate with the violent protesters, but Reagan would have none of that nonsense.

In 1969, Reagan ordered the CHP and Berkeley police to “use whatever method they choose against the protesters.”

If there was any doubt that Reagan wasn’t playing games with these privileged punks, he delivered an even more powerful line in discussing how to deal with them.

Via History:

Reagan served two terms as governor of California from 1967 to 1975, presiding over the tumultuous Vietnam War protest era of the late 1960s and early 1970s. In 1969, he called on National Guard troops to quell a protest on the University of California at Berkeley campus, saying, “If it takes a bloodbath, let’s get it over with, no more appeasement.

Wow.

Appeasement was never an option under Reagan, but after two terms of Obama perpetual appeasement has led to liberals thinking they can do these things and get away with them:

It’s crazy the mindset that these people have, thinking that violent temper tantrums are the way to get their point across to the world.

It’s time to let law enforcement deal with them using “whatever method they choose.” And thanks to American voters, there’s a new sheriff in town: Donald Trump!
