Home Depot Announces Plans to Hire 80,000 New Workers

President Donald J. Trump has been in the White House for less than 2 months, but in the little time he’s been in office, he’s already having a huge impact on our nation’s economy.

In February, his first full month in office, U.S. companies added a massive 298,000 new jobs, according to ADP, a worldwide human resources and payroll company.

President Trump celebrated the new American jobs:

Now, after learning of the huge hiring numbers for the month of February, America’s largest home improvement retailer, The Home Depot, announced plans to hire 80,000 workers across the country by spring!

From SI Live:

At a time when many companies are decreasing staff, big box retailer Home Depot is seeking to hire 80,000 employees to fill its stores nationwide by spring.

And the national retailer is touting the shorter time — just 15 minutes — it will take to apply for a job via its website.

“Applying for a job at the world’s largest home improvement retailer now takes about 15 minutes using any device, thanks to a shorter application and mobile-optimized ‘careers’ site at careers.homedepot.com,” said the company in a statement.

While there are opportunities available at The Home Depot’s nearly 2,000 U.S. stores and 75 distribution facilities, more than 1,000 jobs are available in New York, according to the company’s interactive map.

Prior to taking office in January, President Trump worked with several companies to encourage them to invest in America, rather than outsourcing to neighboring countries. Amazon recently announced it will add 100,000 new American jobs, Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba plans to create 1 million new U.S. jobs, Fiat Chrysler announced a new $1 billion U.S. investment which will create 2,000 jobs,  and Stanley Black & Decker will open a new $35 million plant. Many other companies, such as Carrier, have also announced plans to remain in the United States.
