Hillary Clinton Purchased a Second Home in Chappaqua for White House Staff

Hillary Clinton counted her chickens before they hatched.

She was so sure that her 2016 presidential campaign was going to end in victory, that she bought a million-dollar home for future White House staff.

The ranch-style home, right next to her Chappaqua, New York, residence, sold in September of 2016 for a cool $1.16 million. That’s hard to imagine for a couple that was once “dead broke.”

The three-bedroom home, with its more than 3,600 square feet of living space, was reported by the New York Post as possibly being a retreat for daughter Chelsea Clinton and her family.

During an interview with Jane Pauley, however, Hillary recalled that there was a much different vision for the home.

“You specifically bought this house for a reason,” Pauley said as she spoke with Clinton.

“I did,” Clinton responded. “Well, I know a lot about what it takes to move a president, and I thought I was going to win…”

A voiceover of Pauley added, “The Clintons had acquired the house next door to accommodate White House staff and security during a second Clinton administration.”

Hillary wasn’t the only one who was sure she would win. Former President Barack Obama told the candidate, “You’ve got this,” the night before she lost to Trump.

Not to go to waste, however, Clinton used that house for the next phase of her life – writing bitter autopsies of her election loss.

“At a dining room table in that house, she wrote about what happened,” Pauley told viewers as a screen grab of her book was shown.

The CBS journalist then asked: “Doesn’t it kind of haunt you?” She was referring to Clinton’s purchasing of the home after being so confident she’d beat Trump.

“No, I’m very happy we did it,” Clinton responded.

The rest of America is thrilled, Hillary, that it’s the only “white house” you’ll be sitting in any time soon.
