Hillary Argues in 2014 That Illegal Immigrant Children Should Be Deported

Never before has an issue gone from being a common-sense consensus to being super contentious like illegal immigration and border security.

Back in 2006, when the Senate voted on the Secure Fence Act, which authorized about 700 miles of fencing along certain stretches of land at the border with Mexico, many Democrats supported the bill. Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, and Chuck Schumer were among the 26 Senate Democrats that voted in favor of the Act. Obama said it would help “better fences and better security along our borders” and would also “help stem some of the tide of illegal immigration in this country.”

President Trump has said in regards to his proposed border wall that it need not run the entire 2,000 miles of the border between the U.S. and Mexico. The big, beautiful wall only needs to be about 1,000 miles long because of “natural barriers.” In other words, the Great Wall of Trump is not much larger than a wall Democrats had no problem voting for.

And the border wall isn’t all. While Hillary repeated the nonsensical talking point that Trump’s immigration philosophy is rooted in racism, perhaps she should take a look in the mirror, because video just surfaced showing her stating that even illegal immigrant children need to be deported. Mediaite discovered the clip, which was in the form of a townhall event with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour when she was promoting her last book, “Hard Choices,” in 2014.

During that event, she makes a number of comments that could have easily been made by Donald Trump on immigration.

In response to a question from an audience member about illegal immigration, she told the man “We have to send a clear message, just because your child gets across the border, that doesn’t mean the child gets to stay.” Clinton continued: “So, we don’t want to send a message that is contrary to our laws or will encourage more children to make that dangerous journey.”

“So, you’re saying they should be sent back now?” Amanpour asked in response for clarification.

“Well, they should be sent back as soon as it can be determined who responsible adults in their families are, because there are concerns whether all of them should be sent back,” said Clinton. “But I think all of them who can be should be reunited with their families.”

What does Hillary really think about immigration? To be honest, we will never know.

As she has said, in politics, it’s important to have both a public and a private stance on the issues.

Share this story on Facebook and Twitter to show people that Hillary is a hypocrite on immigration!
